Paul Bussert

Paul J. Bussert, age 70, of Faribault, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault, following an extended illness.             Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 27th at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Immaculate Conception in Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.             Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church. The parish prayers will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.             Paul John Bussert, the son of John and Cecelia (Keilen) Bussert, was born on November 3, 1937 in Rice County. He was raised in the Shieldsville area and attended Bethlehem Academy High School. He was married to Rita McBride on October 20, 1956 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault. Paul was an engineer at Wilson's Packing Company prior to operating his own business, Bussert Tractor Parts for many years.  Paul and Rita have resided in Shieldsville Township for many years. He was a longtime member and former vice-president of the Rice County Steam & Gas Association. He also was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Faribault Council 889 Knights of Columbus.             He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rita of Faribault; eight children, Julia (Duane) LaCanne of Warsaw, Mary Kay (Ken) Spinler of Meriden, MN, Theresa (Brian) Schweisthal of Faribault, Michael Bussert of Faribault, Patty (Brad) Holter of Faribault, Kathleen Bussert-Pleschourt (Michael Pleschourt) of Faribault, Joy (Randal) Kuball of Medford, and Connie (Troy) Krenske of Faribault; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Lawrence Bussert of Montgomery, Francis (Diane) Bussert of Faribault, and William (Mary) Bussert of Faribault; sister, Rose (Harold) Johnson of Osceola, WI; and many relatives and friends.             He was preceded in death by his parents.
