Patrick "Sammy" Sammon

Patrick F. “Sammy” Sammon, age 74 of Faribault, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis following a short illness.

Patrick Francis, the son of Francis and Helen (Stav) Sammon was born on January 25, 1947 in Faribault, MN.  He attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1965.  Following high school Pat served in the National Guard.  On August 8, 1970 he was united in marriage to Marion Sticha at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault.  Pat worked at different businesses over the years including, Lamperts Lumber Yard as a delivery man for construction materials, Fairway Foods in Northfield as a forklift driver and the State Bank of Faribault as a maintenance man from 2000 till his retirement in 2010.  In his younger years Sammy enjoyed playing baseball and later softball.  He was a classic car enthusiast and owned several over the years.  He enjoyed going to car shows and showing his different cars.  He was awarded several trophies because of their great restoration and appearance.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marion Sammon of Faribault; by his children, Tabitha Akers and Jon Akers of Rosemount, MN, and Adam (Dawn) Sammon of Brooklyn Park, MN; by five grandchildren; by his siblings, Becky Sammon of Faribault and Peter Sammon of Apple Valley, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael “Mick” Sammon.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault with the Rev. Henry Doyle, officiating.  For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed through a link found on Pat’s obituary page.

Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
