Patricia "Patsy" Moxness, age 95 of Wabasha, MN and formerly of Faribault, MN and St. Paul, MN, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home in Wabasha.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Faribault at a later date.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Patricia Mary Jones was born on September 12, 1918 in Faribault to Fred C. and Germaine (Payant) Jones. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy with the class of 1935. Patsy married Alfred C. Moxness on April 24, 1940 in Faribault. In 1952, they moved to St. Paul where they resided for 49 years. Patsy worked as an executive secretary in the insurance and brokerage industry for many years. She then worked as a secretary for the Court of Appeals in St. Paul, which she greatly enjoyed. She and Alfred wintered in Florida for 16 years and enjoyed traveling together. They moved to Faribault in 2001. Alfred preceded her in death on January 20, 2003.
Patsy loved to play bridge, care for her vegetable garden, and refinish furniture. She was a talented piano player, who could play be ear. She enjoyed reading many subjects, including politics, sports, and current events, which made her a great conversationalist. Most of all she was a great wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her children, Bill Moxness of Robbinsdale, MN, Richard Moxness of Sioux Falls, SD, and Mary Moxness of Winona, MN; grandson, Gregory Moxness; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Moxness of Vadnais Heights, MN; brothers, Richard (Vivian) Jones and Robert (Suzi) Jones, both of Faribault; sisters-in-law, Josie Jones of Springfield, PA, and Anne Antlantz of Lomita, CA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents; two brothers, Fred D. and Thomas Jones; two sisters-in-law, Jacqueline and Lucille Jones; and a great nephew, Christopher Jones.
Memorials may be designated to the Divine Mercy Catholic Church or Bethlehem Academy in memory of Patsy.
