Oscar Weigelt

Oscar A. Weigelt, age 88, of Good Thunder passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 17436 Minnesota 22, Good Thunder, MN 56037, with Pastor Mary Miska officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Oscar August, son of August and Anna (Watson) Weigelt, was born on February 5, 1927 in Good Thunder, MN. Following his schooling, he served in the United States Army. He then became a lifelong farmer, farming with his brother, Billy, in the Good Thunder area. Oscar was especially known for his wonderful potatoes.
Oscar is survived by his nephews, Tom (Bonnie) Kennedy of Waseca, and Mike (Sue) Kennedy of CA; great nieces and nephews, Shayne (Cynthia) Kennedy of MO, Sean (Debi) Kennedy of KY, Michele (Todd) Maland of Faribault, Todd (Kerry) Kennedy of Waseca, and Ryan (April) Kennedy of Byron; and by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy and Walter; sister-in-law, Loretta; and step-sister, Maggie Griffin.
