Norita D. Reuvers, age 84, of Faribault, MN, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Milestone Senior Living in Faribault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, and on Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Norita Delores was born on June 6, 1935 in Faribault to Joseph and Mary (Hanley) Sammon. She graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1953. Norita was married to David Reuvers on September 20, 1958 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. She worked for Dr. Meyer’s office in Faribault before they moved to the farm. Norita was a great cook providing plentiful meals for all who helped on the farm. She was very active at church volunteering in many different capacities throughout her lifetime. Norita and Dave were great supporters of catholic education, volunteering throughout their children’s school years at CCS (Divine Mercy School) and Bethlehem Academy High School. She was an avid sports fan. Norita enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and supported the Vikings and Twins. Norita was very close with her family, supporting each family member throughout her life when they needed her most.
She is survived by her children, Mary Jane (Jeff) Davies of Grand Rapids, MN, and Jay Reuvers (Mary Donahue) of Faribault; grandchildren, Ryan (Michelle) Davies of Grand Rapids and their children, Deyton, Wylie, and Tate; Nathan Davies of Grand Rapids; and Izzy, Isaac, and Zach Reuvers of Faribault; siblings, Theresa Van Zuilen of West Concord, MN, Genevieve (Homer) Guimond of Shakopee, MN, Marion Pirkl of Owatonna, MN, Jack Sammon and Raymond Sammon, both of Faribault; sister-in-law, Lorna Sammon of Faribault; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David on July 14, 2004; parents, Joseph and Mary; sisters, Catherine Maas, Evelyn Sammon, and Florence Maas; and brothers, Myron, George, Charles, Francis, William, and Donald Sammon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Academy, Divine Mercy Church, or Moments Hospice in memory of Norita.
