Nina Lee, the daughter of Louis and Lily (Goettel) Everding was born on December 13, 1931 in Red Bud, IL. Nina obtained her education in the schools of Red Bud, graduating with the class of 1949. She then went to St. Louis and received her nursing degree from the Deaconess School of Nursing. She was then employed by Deaconess Hospital. Later she used her education in a number of nursing homes in Iowa.
On October 11, 1957 she was united in marriage to James Stroh at St. Peter's Church in Red Bud. In the ensuing years she and Jim spent time in Omaha and several Iowa communities. In those places she was busy tending to family and working in various nursing homes. Upon Jim's retirement in 1995 they moved to their new home in Faribault.
Nina enjoyed her new home in Faribault. Here she helped start a Golden Kiwanis group. The aging members of the group truly enjoyed the excellent scrapbooks she kept marking the club's activities. She also appreciated her relationships with the members of the Congregational Church of Faribault. She so loved her family, her flowers and reading. And always Nina enjoyed singing in choirs and she had sung numerous times in the Messiah and other musicals.
Those who mourn the passing of Nina are her husband James of Faribault and their children, Jean Johnson of Faribault, Robert (Dawn) Stroh of Coon Rapids, MN and Thomas (Monica) Stroh of Jordan, MN; her grandchildren, Andrew, Amy, Matthew, Kelsey, Taylor, Abbey and step grandson Chris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Thelma Hoffman and other relatives.
