Nicholas C. Stadler, age 65, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna with his family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Medford with the Rev. Clayton Haberman, officiating. Interment will be held at the Resurrection Cemetery, Medford. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services. Nicholas Clark, the son of Edward and Mary (Schweisthal) Stadler, was born on August 27, 1944 in Faribault, MN. He attended Medford High School and graduated with the class of 1963. After high school Nick worked for Gallea Transfer for a number of years and then started a 29 year career with Viracon in Owatonna as an over the road truck driver. Later Nick worked as a custodian at Medford High School from 2005-2008 and most recently had worked part time at Sears in Owatonna. On June 16, 2009 he was united in marriage to his long time companion Sonja Reyant. Nick enjoyed the outdoors and from this came his hobby of photographing birds and his memberships in Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and the Turkey Federation. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Medford. He was an excellent wood worker and was also known for his wonderful cookies that he would bake. Nick was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and nieces and nephews in their activities. Family was very important to Nick and he enjoyed their times together. He is survived by his wife, Sonja Stadler of Medford, MN; by his daughter, Paula (Michael) Noel of Clive, IA; by three grandchildren, Jake, Jillian and Sydney Noel; by his stepdaughter, Stacia Reyant (Erik Wisenbaker) of Savannah, GA; by six siblings, Ted (Dawn) Stadler of Medford, MN, Tony (Jan) Stadler of Fairmont, MN, Mark (Marlene) Stadler of Owatonna, MN Sandra (David) Fenske of Rochester, MN, Sharon Langerfeld of Medford, MN and Ann Marie (Michael) Nelson of Owatonna, MN and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, June Stadler and his brother, Edward Stadler. The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.
