Neil J. Cloutier, age 78, of Faribault, died on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the District One Hospital in Faribault, after a brief battle with cancer. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault, with the Reverend Fernando Ortega, Officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to services at the church. Parish prayers will be recited on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Neil Joseph Cloutier, the son of Paul A. and Anna (Solberg) Cloutier, was born on September 22, 1931 in Faribault. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1949. Following high school Neil worked for 12 years at the Faribault Woolen Mill. In 1961 Neil began a 30 year career at the Faribault Regional Center and retired in 1991 as the Warehouse Clerk. On April 24, 1952 he was united in marriage to Marian Gravelin at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Neil was a member of the River Bend Nature Center, the Faribault Senior Center and was a former member of the Faribault Kiwanis Club. Neil enjoyed nature and hiking and bird watching at the River Bend Nature Center. Neil was also an avid gardener and bowled for many years. He is survived by his wife Marian Cloutier of Faribault; by five children, Sharon Madison of St. Paul, MN, Barbara (Ed) Cloutier-Schneider of Roseville, MN, Michael Cloutier of Tucson, AZ, Mary Cloutier of Minneapolis, MN and Constance (Bryan) Lorenzen of Farmington, MN; by six grandchildren; by seven brothers, Gerald Cloutier, Paul Cloutier, James Cloutier, George (Gloria) Cloutier, Russell Cloutier and Donald (Nancy) Cloutier all of Faribault and David (Myoko) Cloutier of Santee, CA; by four sisters, Lorraine Glynn, LaVonne Mogren, Kathy Keilen and Janice (Phil) Ellerbusch all of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Norman and Charles Cloutier.
