Neal Wolfe, 68, died peacefully, November 7, 2017 at his Faribault home. He had many area friends and acquaintances as a long-term Faribault resident and employee of Anna Dee's restaurant.
Neal Ernest Wolfe was born in Albert Lea, MN, on August 27, 1949 to Gordon Wolfe and Audrey (Engelhart) Wolfe. He attended Kiester schools, graduating in 1967 and attended college at Waldorf and Crookston. Neal married Connie Jenkins July 15, 1972, and they made their home in Owatonna until their divorce in 1985.
Neal was employed in canning companies in Illinois, Owatonna, and Faribault, before working at McNamara's and Anna Dee's Faribault restaurants. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Neal was known to many for his friendly disposition, cheerful kindness, and stories. He was a big reader of both fiction and non-fiction and liked watching Discovery or History TV and all sports, especially baseball.
Neal was preceded in death by parents, Gordon and Audrey Wolfe, and sister-in-law, Pamela Wolfe. He is survived by brothers, Kenton (Mary) of Wilsonville, OR, and Brian of Faribault; and sisters, Melody (Lad) Sledz of Edina, and Charity James (Glenn Berk) of Ashland, OR. Also aunt, Maxine Karlberg of Champaign, IL; aunt and uncle, Doris and Kerwin Engelhart of Rochester; nieces, Kari (Doug) Gastich and Kelly (Bob) Looney of Lake Oswego, OR; nephew, Michael James (Patty Pizarro) of Zurich, Switzerland; 7 grand-nieces and nephews; and many wonderful cousins and friends.
An informal memorial celebration of his life will be held at Elks Lodge, 131 Lyndale Ave N, Faribault on Tuesday, November 28th, celebrating things Neal liked best - pizza, Beach Boys music, friendships, and stories. An informal lunch and afternoon of casual remembrances beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are preferred to the donor's choice or the Faribault Library or Police Department in memory of Neal.
