Nathaniel A. Maldonado, age 35 of St. Paul, MN, husband of Alexandra Rech, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021.

Nathaniel, the son of Adrian and Cynthia (Amaya) Maldonado was born on April 4, 1986 in New Braunfels, TX.  He attended Arroyo Valley High School and graduated with the class of 2004.  Later he attended Wartburg College and received his bachelor's degree.  On August 8, 2015 he was united in marriage to Alexandra Rech at the Next Chapter Winery in New Prague, MN.  For the past five years, Nate worked as a cement finisher with O’Malley Construction.

While living in San Bernardino, CA, Nate worked and volunteered at the Central City Lutheran Mission.  He loved his work there and one of his co-workers commented on Nate’s life that he made the ultimate journey for Freedom.  He is painting, tattooing, rapping and living Freedom on the other side of the River of Life.  He is free, free, free at last.  Indeed he is BAC (Beyond All Control) eternal.  He is remembered and celebrated.  He was a painter. (“Freedom” a personal gift from Nate in 2010).  His body was a poem.  He was a Delegate of the Word in the Community of St. Martin.  He was a father.  He was a street artist, beloved especially by the police of San Bernardino!

He enjoyed drawing, graffiti and calligraphy.  He loved to eat and especially enjoyed apple pie and pistachio dessert.  He wanted to be a fisherman and was spoiled on his first trip fishing and caught the biggest fish he would ever catch!

He loved his family deeply, he was a great friend and friends were his family.

He is survived by his wife, Alexandra Maldonado and their son Abel of St. Paul; by his parents, Adrian Maldonado Sr. of San Antonio, TX and Cynthia (Jeff) Clark of Alabama; by his siblings, Jennifer (Richard) Powell of Honolulu, Hawaii, Adrian Maldonado Jr. of Colorado and Santiago Maldonado of San Antonio, TX; by his father and mother-in-law, Jimmie and Kris Rech of Akeley, MN; brothers-in-law, Justin Rech of Akeley, MN, Bryce Rech of Maple Grove, MN, Carter (Alexis) Rech of Nevis, MN and Wyatt Rech of Akeley, MN; by grandmothers, Diane Rech of Faribault and Mary Villwock of Kilkenny, MN; by six nieces and five nephews and many friends.
