Naomi Mittelsteadt, age 84 of Waseca, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Victor Roth and Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating. Interment will be in the St. Johns-Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McRaith Funeral Home in Waseca, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to services, at church.  Memorials are preferred to Cannon Valley Lutheran High School in Morristown.  Naomi Caroline was born on July 23, 1924 in Freeman, South Dakota, daughter of Wilhelmina (Schamber) Treiber. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Freeman. Her education began in St. Paul Lutheran Day School in Freeman. Naomi graduated from high school and junior college in Freeman. She taught school in a South Dakota rural one-room school system, and later in the Lutheran Christian Schools at Ottertail and Watertown, South Dakota, and Janesville, Minnesota. After her marriage to Harvey A. Mittelsteadt in 1950, she and her husband resided in Waseca, Minnesota. Later they moved to Winnebago where they owned and operated Harvey's North Star Service Station. In 1976 they sold their business and retired to Lake Tetonka at Waterville. They later returned to Waseca. Her love of music enabled her to sing in various choirs, and she enjoyed membership in the Waterville Community Chorus and later the Waseca Chorale. Naomi also was a former member of the St. Paul Lutheran Ladies Aid in Waseca, and currently in St. Paul's "29 er's". Her loving family include: her husband Harvey of Waseca and her three daughters Debra (Roger) Moore of Huxley, IA, Kathi (Robert) Seitz of St. Cloud, and Lori (James) Nauman of Blue Earth; her two granddaughters Cara and Rachel, and her five grandsons Patrick, Nathan, Andrew, Kyle, and Matthew; six great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and four step-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Nadine Scheffert and Edna Mittelsteadt; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Casketbearers are:   Nathan Moore, Matthew Moore, Andrew Hartman, Kyle Hartman, Patrick Mineer, Brad Zimmer, and Jeff Staloch.
