Nancy Painter

Nancy A. Painter, age 72, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

Nancy Ann was born on December 19, 1949, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Elmer and Bonnie (Jarchow) Freed.  Nancy grew up in Luverne, MN, until 1959 when she moved to Faribault.  She graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1967.  She was married to Jim Magedanz in 1967, they had three children and were later divorced.  Nancy was married to Len Painter on April 27, 2003, in Mesquite, NV.  They traveled to many different states until moving back to Faribault.  Nancy worked for seven years at Josten’s and two years at Faribault Transportation.  She loved to read and gamble at the casinos.  Most of all she cherished the time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  They were her life.

She is survived by her children, Dawn Johnson (Dale) of Mankato, MN, Amy Pierce (Charles) of Faribault, and Eric Magedanz (Jena) of Colorado; grandchildren, Dustin Lemke (Kristi), Heather Lemke (Trevor), Christopher Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Jonae Carlson, Jonathan Carlson, Colby Kreger (Katie), Coy O’Brien-Kreger (Kelly), Courtnie “Copper” Kreger, Charlene Bates (Travis), Carter Magedanz, and Kayley Magedanz; great grandchildren, Riley, Oaklee, Gavin, Ryder, Holden, Theodore, Catherine, Mia, Jalen, and Deandria; siblings, Gregg Freed (Amy) of Las Vegas, NV, Mark Freed (Carol) of Faribault, and Brian Freed (Cindy) of Faribault; and by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Len; parents, Elmer and Bonnie; and brother, Jerry Freed.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at 1405 Cannon Circle Suite 11, Faribault.  The celebration will include food, drinks, and lots of love and laughs being shared by all.
