Nancy J. Appelgren

Nancy J. Appelgren, age 80 of Faribault, MN passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 surrounded by her family at The Emeralds at Faribault.

Nancy Jean, the daughter of Richard and Lillian (Nielsen) Appelgren, was born on September 3, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN. Nancy grew up in Minneapolis and attended Mrs. Frasier’s School. She worked for Opportunity Workshop in Minnetonka for many years. She was united in marriage to Dale Koenig and they lived in Robbinsdale before Nancy moved to Faribault. Nancy loved spending time with her family, fishing, coloring, crafting, swimming, and doing puzzles. She also loved smiling and Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Dale; sister, Annalise Gail Fiebiger; sister-in-law, Marion Appelgren; nieces, Lisa (Roman) Georges Johnson, Bethany (Erik) Georges Melin, Kathleen (Scott) Klecker, Sandy (Mike) Schlossin, Sharon Appelgren, and Susie Appelgren; nephews, Robert (Wendy) Appelgren Jr. and David (Kristy) Appelgren; 25 great nieces and nephews, 16 great-great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joan; brother, Robert Sr.; Uncles Meryl, Lawrence, and Wilbur; Aunt LaVaughn; and great nephew, Timothy Schlossin; and great-great nephew, Jaron Johnson.

Interment will be held at Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis at a later date.
