Myles E. Machacek, age 87, of Faribault, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan, pastor officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. Myles Emil Machacek, the son of Emil and Mary (Douda) Machacek, was born on October 9, 1922 in Lonsdale, MN. As a young man Myles helped his parents on their family farm. On June 20, 1945 he was united in marriage to Celia Rose Malecha at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale. After their marriage, Myles and Celia farmed near Lonsdale for 15 years until 1960 when they moved to Faribault. Myles worked for 20 years as a truck driver for Farmer Seed and Nursery. Later he worked for 9 years as a custodian for the Faribault Clinic until his retirement. Myles was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing and also traveling. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Celia Machacek of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister in law, Ray and Florence Machacek and by his sister, Helen Crawford.
