Monica "Moni" Fredrick, age 70, of Good Thunder, died peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2014 in Waseca.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.
Arrangements are being completed by the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca.
In lieu of flowers, Monica's family requests donations be made to the Minnesota Valley Pet Hospital in Mankato, the Minnesota Horse Rescue Association or to a local animal shelter in her memory.
Monica Dianne, the daughter of Adrian and Helen (Schuler) Brakke, was born on January 3, 1944 in Mankato. She attended schooling in Blue Earth before graduating from Winnebago High School in 1962. After high school, Moni worked at various places throughout the area. She loved to cook and at one point owned a restaurant for a short period of time and also enjoyed being a personal caretaker for many years. On December 31, 1985, she was united in marriage to Edward "Ed" Fredrick in Mankato. Moni loved horses, cooking, camping at various campgrounds, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Fredrick of Good Thunder; her son, Eddie (Teri) Fredrick of Maple Lake, MN ; her grandchildren, Jessica and Abby; her siblings, Marcy Christansen of St. Peter, Joyce (Rollie) Fuller of Littleton, CO and Barbara (Richard) Silbernick of Becker, and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Moni will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Dolly Thompson.
