Milo Schnepf

Milo "Mike" Schnepf, age 84, of Faribault, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a brief illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick (7525 Dodd Road) in Shieldsville. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday morning.

Milo Nicholas, the son of Joseph and Anna (Goetzinger) Schnepf, was born on April 12, 1928 in Oyens, Iowa. On October 22, 1951, Milo was united in marriage to Helen McKenna in Storm Lake, Iowa. In 1952, they moved to Faribault to be closer to Helen's family who owned the Melody Mill Dance Hall. Milo owned and operated both the Spur Station and the Union 76 in Faribault for many years. Helen later preceded him in death on September 18, 1987.

After selling the stations, Milo became manager of the Faribault Eagle's Club. He truly enjoyed being involved at a local, state and national level. Milo was awarded the opportunity to be inducted into the Eagle's Hall of Fame in 2006 for his dedication and service to the organization. After retiring from the Eagle's Club, Milo enjoyed driving school bus in the Faribault area. On July 11, 1997, he was united in marriage to Arlene Ellis at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville. She also preceded him in death on January 10, 2009. Milo truly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great granddaughter.

He is survived by his children, Sandra Jarvis of Faribault and Kathryn (Maynard) Tuma of Northfield; his four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; his sisters, Hildegard Cerveny of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Joanne Reinert of Donna, Texas and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Helen and Arlene; three siblings, Robert and William Schnepf and Doris Arens and by his son in law, Robert Jarvis.
