Michael Lynn Redding was born on March 31, 1952 to Wayne and Velda (Moore) Redding in Waterloo, Iowa. He attended Rosemount High School and graduated with the class of 1971. Mike worked mostly as a handy man throughout his career and most recently was in charge of building maintenance at the Faribault Hotel. Mike loved music and played the drums, guitar, bass and sang in different bands over the years. He also enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, cooking and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Mike also volunteered many times to help with the Community Thanksgiving Dinner at the American Legion Club. Mike will be remembered for his story telling, his laugh, and his uncanny ability to make friends out of complete strangers. He had a huge heart and was always there for someone in need. He loved spending time with his family and his family loved spending time with him. We will all miss him dearly.
Michael is survived by his children, Brandon (Amy) Redding of Faribault, Blaine Redding of Faribault, Billie Jo (Mike) Tix of Hastings, and Bobbie Jo (Jesse) Kanakaras of Seattle, WA; by his father, Wayne Redding of Wabasha, MN; by six grandchildren; by his special friend, Diane Kohanek of Faribault; by his sisters, Jacqueline Jordan of California and Jody Redding of Cottage Grove; by his former spouse, Shirley Wrolstad of Lonsdale and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Velda Redding and his brother, Gary Redding.
