Michael Mccusker

Michael A. McCusker, age 63, of Faribault, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault following an extended illness.             Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault, with the Rev. Fernando Ortega officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Organization.             Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services.             Michael Anthony McCusker, the son of Edward and Marcella (Roach) McCusker, was born on June 6, 1946 in Faribault. He attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1964. Following high school he attended Mankato Vocational and Technical School for two years. After his schooling, Mike served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his service time Mike began working as a machinist at OTC and later SPX for 33 years. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Illg on October 4, 1974. They were later divorced. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his new grandson Samuel, and spending time at the lake. He was a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Faribault.              He is survived by two children, Chris McCusker of Faribault and Kathryn (Troy) Roth of Faribault; by his grandson Samuel Roth; by three brothers, Tony (Lenore) McCusker, Dennis (Tina) McCusker and Hugh McCusker and Bev Berg all of Faribault and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.             He was preceded in death by his parents.
