Michael J. "Mike" MacKay, age 62 of Faribault, MN and formerly of Albert Lea, MN passed away on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN following an extended illness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N. in Faribault with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be held at St. Theodore's Cemetery in Albert Lea, MN at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home.
Michael Joe, the son of Joe and Margaret "Margie" (Lair) MacKay, was born on October 3, 1955 in Albert Lea, MN. He attended Albert Lea High School and graduated with the class of 1974. Mike worked various jobs over the years until health reasons made him retire. Mike enjoyed fishing, gardening, NASCAR, going to the cabin up north and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Michael MacKay and fiancé Holly Kittleson of Faribault, MN and Molly MacKay and her children, Riley Velishek and Madeline Voegel of Faribault, MN and by his sister, Cindy (Dave) Seeman of Rochester, MN and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
