Michael Boysen, age 56, of Faribault, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to services.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to the American Kidney Foundation in memory of Mike.
Michael David, the son of Bernhardt and Thelma (Howes) Boysen, was born on July 30, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN. He attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1975. Mike served in the U.S. Navy for a short time. On February 20, 1977 he was united in marriage to Connie Sticha. They later divorced. Later Mike was united in marriage to Joan Miller on November 30, 2001 at The Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault. Mike worked for 36 years as Fleet Administrator and Corporate Security for Donaldson's Inc., in Bloomington, MN. Mike loved playing with his grandchildren and being with his family. He was a member of the Amateur Bowling League, was an avid Twins fan, enjoyed traveling, ice fishing, going to the horse track and golfing, at which he was lucky enough to have gotten a hole in one.
He is survived by his wife Joan Boysen of Faribault; by two children, David (Kimberly) Boysen of Burnsville, MN and Cindy Boysen and special friend Brian Olson of Carver, MN; by two step children, Jim (Wendy) Liverseed of Faribault, MN and David (Sarah) Liverseed of Mankato, MN; by three grandchildren, Kailyn Boysen, Kenna Boysen and Alaina Boysen; by eight step grandchildren, Lennon Watkins, Grace Liverseed, Gregory Liverseed, Chase Liverseed, Aleah Liverseed, Zachary Liverseed, Wil Olson and Emma Olson; by three siblings, Bill (Marietta) Boysen of New Market, MN, Sandi (Bill) Nytes of Colorado Springs, CO and Cheryl Boysen of Apache Junction, AZ and by several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step granddaughter, Julia Liverseed and his father-in- law, Bing Miller.
