Michael R. Bjorklund, age 51, of Charlotte, NC, and formerly of Faribault, MN, died Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Presbyterian Medical Center Hospice Unit in Charlotte, NC, following an extended illness.
Celebration of Mike's life will take place on Monday, May 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating.
Gathering of friends and family will take place on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Michael Robert was born on March 10, 1965 in Waconia, MN, and was adopted on December 10, 1965 by Robert and Donna (Keller) Bjorklund. Mike graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1983, and after some college, Mike worked several years with Midway Airlines in Chicago. He worked in the business field for many years in Ohio and Charlotte, NC. He was married to Christy Hanna on November 10, 2006, in Columbus, OH. Mike loved to golf and devoted a tremendous amount of his time at the Golf Club of Dublin to help build it to where it is today. He also enjoyed life on the water, especially boating on Lake Norman, teaching water sports and fishing with his children. Mike also was active with them in their sporting activities. Mike liked to travel, especially to the Caribbean Islands.
He is survived by his wife, Christy; his children, Justin Neff of Mocksville, NC, Christian Neff of Columbus, OH, and Mason, Jasmine, and Zachary Bowman all of Charlotte, NC; his sisters, Lynn (Randy) Feyereisn of Faribault, MN and Lisa (Dan) Bouillez of Loveland, CO; his nieces, Cassandra Truax, and Anastacia Bouillez, nephews, John (Erica) Feyereisn, and Joe (Leah) Feyereisn; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Donna.
