Michael R. "Mike" Barta

Michael R. “Mike” Barta, age 65 of Faribault, MN passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 due to injuries sustained in a trucking accident.

Michael Raymond, the son of Raymond and Arlys (Schwake) Barta was born on April 20, 1958 in Northfield, MN.  He attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1976.  Following high school Mike attended the Minnesota School of Business.  On June 3, 1978 he was united in marriage to Cynthia Marie Dietz at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault.  Mike worked as a truck driver for many years for different businesses including, UPS, Alliant Food Service, Cemstone, Plastic Express and Buscho Enterprises LLC.  He loved to drive.  When Mike wasn’t working he enjoyed spending time at their cabin in northern Minnesota, fishing and being outdoors in general.  Mike really enjoyed any time that he could spend with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Marie Barta of Faribault, MN; by his sons, Scott (Kelly) Barta of Independence, MN and their children, Aiden, Carter and Emmit and Craig Barta and Dawn Lindquist of Williston, ND and their children, Mattasyn and Samantha; by his sister, Cindy Ann Barta of Faribault, MN and by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steve Barta.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault.  Interment will be held at a later date.

Memorial visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
