Michael Armendariz

Michael D. Armendariz, age 56, of Eagle Lake passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, January 22, 2016 at his home following a hard fought battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with Father Michael Cronin officiating. Interment will be held at Eagle Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home with the rosary being said at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Michael Dennis, son of Raymond and Phyllis (Mike) Armendariz, was born on November 21, 1959 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He attended and graduated from Janesville High School in 1978. On April 28, 1979, he was united in marriage to Ann Flynn at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Janesville. He worked in the building industry for many years, most recently for Carleton Companies, Inc. Michael enjoyed bowling, working on cars, cookouts, sports, travelling and watching fireworks. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Ann Armendariz of Eagle Lake; children, Dana Armendariz of Eagle Lake, Michelle Armendariz of Black River Falls, WI, Scott Armendariz of Eagle Lake, and Sara Armendariz of Black River Falls; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Chelesia, Anthony, Devin, Dylan, Brianna, Derek, Alyssa, and Adrian; great grandson, Julian; mother, Phyllis Armendariz; siblings, Regina (David) Lowe of Olivia, MN, Raymond Armendariz Jr. of Tomah, WI, Teresa Armendariz of Mankato, Andrea Armendariz of Mankato, Christal Armendariz of Mankato, and Joshua Armendariz of Mankato; mother-in-law, Betty (Dick) Jeno of Lonsdale; brothers-in-law, Joseph Flynn of Lonsdale and Vincent (Leslie) Flynn of Crookston; sister-in-law, Barb (Leo) Strong of Kasota; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; sister, Mona Armendariz; his grandparents; and by his father-in-law, Clement Flynn.
