Mary Jean Smith

Mary Jean Smith, age 85, of Fort Worth, TX and formerly of Faribault, MN, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Brookdale Broadway Cityview Senior Living in Fort Worth, TX, following a short illness.

Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N. in Faribault, with Pastor Jeff Sandgren officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home.

Mary Jean, the daughter of Earl and Mae (Abramson) Thayer, was born June 6, 1933 in Eveleth, MN.  She was employed by the Faribault Regional Center, and retired on August 31, 1995.  She moved to Fort Worth, TX to be with her daughter in August of 2015.  Mary enjoyed going shopping, going out to eat, having coffee with her friends and traveling.  Mary also enjoyed doing her handiwork including knitting, crocheting and sewing.

She is survived by her sister Carol Kosevich of Faribault; by her son Kevin Smith of Fort Worth, TX, and her daughter Carol Shead of Fort Worth, TX, and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law George Kosevich, great nephew Tim Kosevich, and also her special friend and companion Neil Luckow.
