Mary Lynn Strong, age 61, of Faribault, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at her home following a sudden illness.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Luke's Church in Faribault, with Pastor Aaron Brockmeier, officiating. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Mary Lynn Strong, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Ryder) Strong, was born on September 9, 1951 in Omaha, Neb. and was raised in Roseville, MN. Mary excelled as a homemaker for her family. She was a fantastic cook and baker, always providing a surplus for everyone to eat. She loved being with her family, often playing board games together. Mary enjoyed caring for her flower and vegetable gardens and was skilled at landscaping. At one time she operated a silk flower business and was a seamstress for many. Mary had lived in Burnsville, Lakeville, and Northfield prior to moving to Faribault in 2000. She was a member of St. Luke's Church, volunteering her time for many functions and she took great pride and enjoyed belonging to her Bible Study Group. She also had a passion for musicals and was a great fan of the opera.
She is survived by her four children, Jason Roath, Amy (John) Hager, Charles Roath, and Julianne Cooper; her mother, Dorothy Opris; four grandchildren, Mark, Erik, Natalie, and Joe; three brothers, Steve Strong, Frank Strong, and John Strong; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father.
