Mary Scherfenberg

Mary Joyce Scherfenberg, age 77 of Faribault, MN passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at her home following an extended illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault with Fr. Brandon Theisen officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.

Memorial visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Mary Joyce, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Kitzman) Beucler, was born on June 11, 1942 in Faribault.  She attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1960.  After high school Joyce worked at different businesses in Faribault including Kresge’s and Joe’s Bar before beginning a 38 year career as the dining hall coordinator at MSAD.  In her free time Joyce enjoyed crocheting, roller skating, horseback riding and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Faribault.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Scherfenberg of Faribault and Scott Scherfenberg (Connie Guthrie) of Faribault; by nine grandchildren, Eric, Dustin, Grant, Cassie, Lauren, Abby, Mike, Matt and Emma; by seven great grandchildren, Aubre, Mason, James, Olivia, Kailyn, Katelyn and Makk; by her mother, Helen Beucler of Faribault; by her brothers, James (Patty) Beucler of Medford, MN, Tom (Judy) Beucler of Faribault, Gary (Terri) Beucler of Faribault, Kevin (Janelle) Beucler of Shieldsville and Rick Beucler of Faribault and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Beucler.
