Mary Jane Gehring, age 89 of Waseca, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 5th at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca with Fr. Martin Schaefer, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Waseca. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca is handling arrangements. Mary Jane was born on April 10, 1922 to Dennis and Catherine (Ford) Donovan in Waseca, Minnesota. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School. On April 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clifford F. Gehring. Mary Jane and Clifford raised their family and resided in Waseca their entire married life. She was employed for many years as a supervisor for Northwestern Bell Telephone in Waseca. For the last 23 years of her career she was employed by Brown Printing Company of Waseca, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, and a life member of the Waseca V.F.W. Sweet-Sommers Post #1642 Auxiliary. Mary Jane was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Communications Workers of America. She is survived by her son Michael Gehring of Rochester; by her grandchildren, Mariah (Brian) Roemhildt of Janesville, Kayla Gehring of Mankato and Eric Gehring USMC of San Diego, CA; by her great-grandchildren Jackson and Griffin Roemhildt. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Clifford in 1980; by her brothers Sylvester (Mary) Donovan and Damian Donovan; by her sisters Florentine Thomson and Lucille Greeney.
