Mary J. Frejlach, age 100, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at her daughter's home in West St. Paul after a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault, with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan, officiating. Interment will be held at the St. John Cemetery in Veseli, Minnesota. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Friday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Academy, Divine Mercy Catholic Church or to the donor's choice. Mary Julia Sticha, the daughter of Wencl & Rose (Kokes) Sticha was born on June 9, 1910 in Vesili, Minnesota. On September 24, 1929, Mary was united in marriage to Walter Frejlach at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Vesili. They resided in Lonsdale for twenty years and then moved to Faribault in 1948. Walter preceded her in death on May 13, 1975. Mary's main passion in life was cooking. She spent thirty years as the cook at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Faribault. During these years, she cooked for many weddings, parties and other gatherings, which lead her to make many friendships she truly cherished. Mary retired at the age of 90. Her other pleasures were her yard and garden of flowers, fruits and vegetables. Mary was given the opportunity this past June to celebrate her 100th birthday with many joyful events including going to a Minnesota Twins game with her entire family. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Knights of Columbus Post # 889 Ladies Auxiliary and the Faribault Aerie 1460 Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Mary is survived by her daughters, Grace McDonald of West St. Paul, Shirley Heyer of Roseville, and Kathleen McDonald of Lakeville; her seven grandchildren, Jon (Teri) Heyer, Ann (Maurice) White Eagle, Bradley Heyer, Peter (Lisa) Heyer, Nick (Amy) Heyer, Patrick (Amy) McDonald and Tim (Jennifer) McDonald; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson, and by other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, siblings Bill Sticha, Josephine Graff and Bessie Tupy, and son in law Marv Heyer.
