Mary (McDonald) Beatty, age 57 of Faribault, MN, died on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN following an extended illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive in Faribault, with Fr. Kyle Kowalczyk officiating. Interment will be held at a St. Edward's Cemetery in Richland Township at a later date.
Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to services.
Mary Elda, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (Karow) McDonald, was born on January 12, 1959 in Faribault, MN. Mary attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1977. She would later attend school to become an LPN and would work for 17 years as a nurse at the Faribault Regional Center. During this time on July 28, 1984, Mary was united in marriage to Charles Beatty Jr. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. After the closure of the Regional Center Mary worked for 18 years as a librarian at Minnesota State University Mankato. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She also enjoyed hosting family birthday parties along with reading, baking, going to garage sales, going for long walks, playing scratch offs, playing bingo and going to the casino.
She is survived by her husband Charles Beatty Jr. of Faribault; by her daughters, Sara (Victor) Wolf of Kenyon, MN, Laura (Peter) Vilendrer of Owatonna, MN and Megan Beatty of Owatonna, MN; by grandsons, Keaston Matlock and Thorn Wolf; by her siblings, Michael (Mariana) McDonald of Kenyon, MN, Irene McDonald, Daniel McDonald, David McDonald, John (Sherry) McDonald, and Bill (Marsha) McDonald, all of Faribault, MN and Anne (Kelly) Mulford of Kenyon, MN; by her father and mother-in-law, Charles and Delite Beatty Sr. of Faribault, MN; by sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda and Dennis Gunhus of Kenyon, MN, Bonnie and Clayton Mechura, Rick Beatty and Theresa (Robert) Pitt, all of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Margaret McDonald and by her brother-in-law, Paul Losen Jr.
