Martin "Jack" Vaughan, age 83, of Faribault, MN, and formerly of Prior Lake, MN, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

PLEASE NOTE THE VISITATION AND FUNERAL FOR JACK VAUGHAN HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A DIFFERENT DATE

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment with military honors will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Martin John was born on June 17, 1931, in St. Paul, MN to Morgan and Corrine (Trudeau) Vaughan. He graduated John Marshall High School in St. Paul in 1949. Jack served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after four years. He then attended the University of Minnesota for two years. Jack was married to Doris Helgeson on November 19, 1956 in St. Paul. They had five children and were later divorced. Jack worked for the St. Paul Fire & Marine and the St. Paul Companies as an underwriter, retiring after 29 years of employment. He was married to Patricia Adams on June 23, 1978 in South Dakota. Jack enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He was a member of the Eastern Star #90 of Shakopee and the Masons Lodge 326 A.F. & A.M. of Waconia.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Vaughan of Faribault; four children, Joseph (Laura) Vaughan of Rosemount, MN, Elizabeth Vaughan of Savage, MN, Lynn (Scott) Lombardi of Prior Lake, MN, and Teresa (Patrick) McCoy of Chicago; daughter-in-law, Janet Vaughan of Prior Lake, MN; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; step-children, Timothy Castle of Grand Rapids, MN, and Linda Castle of Faribault; sisters, Mary Ann Walsh of Augres, MI, and Margaret Laird of Yucipia, CA; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Vaughan; and former wife, Doris Vaughan.
