Marsedius Rosseau

Marsedius M. Rosseau, age 91 of Janesville, died on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 23rd at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville, with Fr. Peter Klein, Celebrant. Spring interment will be in the St. Ann Church Cemetery.

The Rosseau family will greet friends on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Saturday morning for one hour prior to services at church.

Marsedius Marie was born on October 10, 1921 to William E. and Margaret A. (O'Shaughnessy) Milbrath in Harmony, Minnesota. She attended Elysian area country schools. On July 16, 1942 she was united in marriage to John W. Rosseau in Waynesville, Missouri. Marsedius and John lived in Mankato, Eagle Lake, and Janesville, farming and raising their family. After her husband's death in 1967, she continued to reside in Janesville, and worked part time as a waitress for the Village Diner and Heritage House in Janesville, and full time for E.F. Johnson in Waseca until her retirement in 1987. Marsedius moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona, and later to Harrison, Arkansas. She then returned to Janesville to be near her family and friends. She was a longtime member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville, and the Janesville American Legion Auxiliary #281. Marsedius enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, and crossing Lake Michigan by ferry with her family. She loved sewing, crocheting, working in her yard and time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children; Mary Ann Rose MorningStar of Mankato, Douglas Rosseau of Harrison, AR, and Sally (Roy) Keyes of Janesville; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Minnie Milbrath of Elysian; 13 nieces and 8 nephews who called her "Aunt Mars"; by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 1967; son, John "Jackie" Rosseau in 2004; brothers, John (Margaret) Milbrath, Robert (Kitty) Milbrath, Donald Milbrath and Henry Milbrath; sister, Margaret (Ralph) Terrell.
