Marjorie Kelly

August 21, 1944 — April 4, 2017

Marjorie A. Kelly, age 72 of Lead Hill, AR and formerly of Chanhassen, MN, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Hospice of The Hills Home in Harrison, AR following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister, officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:00 am.

Marjorie Anna, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Hauer) Velishek was born August 21, 1944 on the family farm. She married Thomas Kelly on March 22, 1971. Marjorie worked for Rosemount Engineering of Eden Prairie, Minnesota as a quality assurance inspector. After retirement, Marjorie and Thomas moved to Lead Hill, AR and settled on Bull Shoals Lake where they enjoyed the lake life for many years. Marjorie enjoyed running the food pantry with Joy Peterson in Diamond City. She formed many great friendships through her involvement in many quilting groups. Together, Marjorie and Tom traveled to many places where she loved spending time in the outdoors and hiking in the mountains. She was a member of Diamond City Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Thomas Kelly of Lead Hill, AR; by five children, Scott (Jinie) DeMars of California, Michelle (Michael) Scott, Cheryl (Jay) Merritt, Jennifer (Scott) Shoemaker, and Keisa (Mike) Truax all of Minnesota; by seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; by eleven siblings, LaVina Hasher, Joseph (Shelley) Velishek, David (Mary Kay) Velishek, Roger (Randee) Velishek, Frank (Sharon) Velishek, Jerry (Emily) Velishek, Wayne (Tracy) Velishek, Randy (Wanda) Velishek, Cindy (Bob) Michel, Susie Amadick, and Alan (Roxie) Velishek; by a brother-in-law Lowell Johnson and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Janet Dahlen and Maryann Johnson.
