Marion Bossmann

Marion W. Bossmann, age 83 of Faribault, died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault, surrounded by her family.             Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.             Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services.             The family prefers that memorials be directed to the House of Gratitude at Divine Mercy Catholic Church.             Marion Wilhelmina Noy, the daughter of August and Wilhelmina (Reuvers) Noy, was born on January 7, 1928 in Faribault. She attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1946. On June 9, 1949 she was united in marriage to Peter W. Bossmann at Rosebud, Alberta Canada. Marion and Pete raised their family together. Marion enjoyed spending time with her family and also enjoyed dancing, bowling, fishing, quilting, sewing, knitting and crafts. She also worked for many years co-running the Bethlehem Academy Fair Stand. She was a member of the Daughter's of Isabella and the Rosary Society at Divine Mercy Catholic Church and had formerly served on the Immaculate Conception School Board and the Bethlehem Academy Home and School Committee. Marion was a Matron Deputy serving on the Rice County Sheriff's Department. Marion worked as a secretary for 15 years at Northwestern Financial in Faribault.             She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Peter Bossmann of Faribault; by 10 children, Laura (Harlan) Smid of Montrose, CO, Dianne (Jim) Brown of Eyota, MN, Daniel (Sheila) Bossmann of Faribault, David (Judy) Bossmann of Faribault, Rosanne (Gordy) Adamek of Morristown, Thomas (Kim) Bossmann of Faribault, James Bossmann of Kenyon, MN, Patricia Dickison of Eagan, MN, Paul (Meredith) Bossmann of Faribault and Kathleen (Paul) Pumper of Faribault; by 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; by two sisters, Joanne DeGrood of Faribault and Laura (Stan) Ringold of Coleraine, MN and by other relatives and friends.             She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Todd Bossmann, two sisters, Sister Agnes Noy and Virginia Giles, by her brother, Donald Noy and by her brother in law, Robert DeGrood.
