Mario Torres

Mario Torres, age 61, of Faribault, MN, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault following an extended illness.

Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church. The rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Mario was born on September 3, 1954 in San Antonio, TX to Oswaldo and Margarita Torres Carrejo. He was married to Leticia Rodriguez in 1976. Mario had a passion for music, CB radios, fishing and hunting, and his huge family. He worked many years in maintenance and was a jack-of-all-trades, no project was too big for him to handle. Mario loved taking his grandsons fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors. He also enjoyed talking with is granddaughters about life and family.

He is survived by his wife, Leticia Rodriguez; his children, Violinda Guajardo, Santos Rodriguez, Laura Rodriguez, Neomi Noriega, and Marizela Rodriguez Ramirez, all of San Antonio, TX; his siblings, Zulema Carrejo Delgado, Diana Carrejo Torres, Mary Carrejo Barro, Oscar Carrejo, Jose Carrejo, and Victor Carrejo, all of Faribault; many grandchildren; goddaughter, Michele Cozad; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, both in Texas and Minnesota; and a very special close friend of the family, Jay Alexander, who spent a lot of time reminiscing with Mario.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margarita T. Carrejo, and Oswaldo Carrejo; grandsons, Amir Taskini and Sebastian Castillo Ortiz; granddaughter, Adriana Torres; and sister, Rosalinda Carrejo.
