Marian E. (Mrs. Carl) Meyer, age 87, of Faribault, died Monday, November 24, 2008 at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault with the Rev. Michael Mandsager, officiating. Interment will be held at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Friday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to services. Marian Elaine Johnson, the daughter of Edward and Sema (Berg) Johnson, was born on July 12, 1921 in Kenyon, MN. She attended Kenyon High School and graduated with the class of 1939. On July 8, 1944 she was united in marriage to Carl Raymond Meyer at the First English Lutheran Church. Mr. Meyer preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1993. For all of her married life, Marian stayed at home and raised their family. Marian enjoyed cooking and being with her family. She is survived by two sons, Larry (Carol) Meyer of Faribault and Ronald Meyer of Siren, WI; by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by five brothers, Arnold, Ernest, Donald, Ronald and Clarence Johnson and by four sisters, Julia Brekke, Mabel Aberle, Gladys Meyer and Ida Veblen.
