Margaret J. "Marge" Gossman, age 91 of Janesville, died on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Janesville Nursing Home. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville with Rev. Michael Mathews and Vicar Michael Schuette, officiating. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery. The Gossman Family will greet friends on Tuesday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville. Margaret Jean was born on May 31, 1919 in Janesville, Minnesota to Carl Paul and Linda Marie (Lienke) Quast. She was a 1937 graduate of Janesville High School. Marge worked for a few years at the Knitting Mill, then later at E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca. On April 21, 1951 she was united in marriage to Elmer V. Gossman in Minneapolis. Marge and Elmer resided on their Alton Township Farm their entire married life. Following Elmer's death in 2001, Marge continued to live in the farm until moving to the Janesville Nursing Home. Marge was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Marge enjoyed baking cookies, and loved caring for her cats. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lois Gossman of Janesville, and by many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Elmer on July 17, 2001; by her sister Marie (Bill) Sexton, and two brothers Paul and Robert Quast; by two sisters-in-law Roseanna Gossman and Ruth (Bert) Groeneveld, and her brother-in-law Joseph Gossman.
