Marcia Robin (Hill) Hetletvedt, loving wife and mother, daughter and sister, friend and volunteer, coach and counselor, co-worker and colleague, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 surrounded by family. She fought a 21 month battle with cancer, and was supported by countless friends, family, students and co-workers through this time, and for this she and we will be eternally grateful. She is survived by her husband Dean, son and daughter Cody and Brooke, mother and father Beverly and Robert Hill, brothers Jeff (Amy) and Scott (Monica) Hill, father-in-law Lowell Hetletvedt, and many nieces and nephews. Born March 14, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she graduated from Edina High School in 1978, and Cum Laude from Mankato State University in 1983. She was an avid outdoorswoman and athlete. She enjoyed volunteering for conservation projects including water testing at the Cannon River. She started working for Rice County in 1999 in the auditor treasurer office and ended in the assessor's office as an appraiser/clerk specialist. Beginning as a coach for the Carleton College Volleyball program, and then an Athletic Trainer at Shattuck-St. Mary's, Marcia was always finding ways to be surrounded by her passion for athletics. After a period of time coaching the Faribault Girls High School Volleyball program, she fell in love coaching for the Faribault Girls Hockey program where she always felt at home. She was inspired and motivated throughout her illness by the countless heartwarming and generous actions from some of the most amazing families in the world. Visitation will be Thursday Dec 29th from 3-8 pm at Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault (607 Second Av NW), and also on Friday Dec 30th from 1-2 pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1207 Prairie Av SW, Faribault, MN.
