Marcella A. Slavik, age 95, of Faribault, died on Friday, August 13, 2010 at home with her family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault, with Fr. Kevin Finnegan, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to Faribault Area Hospice or the choice of the donor in memory of Marcella. Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Marcella Ann Pinc, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Havel) Pinc, was born on January 18, 1915 in Lonsdale, MN. She was raised in the Lonsdale area and later was married to William Slavik in May of 1933 in Lonsdale. They farmed for many years in the Shieldsville/Kilkenny area before moving to Faribault in the 1950s. Marcella cleaned houses for many years. William preceded her in death on November 3, 1994. She loved to bake fresh pies and kolackys for family, friends, and neighbors. Marcella loved to dance and play bingo. For the past six years she was cared for at home by a special granddaughter, Mary Hunt. The past few years she enjoyed helping babysit great great grandchildren. She was also known as "Grandma Kolacky". She was able to spend these last years at home under the care of Mary with the help of special neighbors, Brian, Cheryl and Jenny. Marcella was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She is survived by three children, Ray (Nancy) Slavik of Albertville, Esther Hunt (Wayne) Winjum of Faribault, and Elizabeth Remmey Slavik of Rochester; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Alvin Slavik; siblings, Mary Trnka, John Pinc, George Pinc, Emma Trnka, Lillian Kuchinka, Frank Pinc, Ann Olson, Emanuel Pinc, and one sister in infancy, Elizabeth; and son-in-law, Eugene Hunt.
