Marcella M. Dix, age 96 of Faribault, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Northfield Care Center.             Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan, pastor officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault at a later date.             Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.             The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Northfield Retirement Center or Bethlehem Academy High School.             Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault.             Marcella Marie Karp, the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth (Endres) Karp, was born on February 22, 1913 in Faribault. She attended Bethlehem Academy and graduated with the class of 1930. Following high school, Marcella attended the Minnesota School of Business. After her schooling, Marcella moved to Milwaukee, WI and worked at Brouwer Shoe Company where she met her future husband. On June 25, 1935 she was united in marriage to Sylvester J. Dix at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. Together they owned and operated Karp Shoe Store in Faribault from 1935 to 1976. Mr. Dix preceded her in death on May 7, 1989. Family was very important to Marcella and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren. She was a member of many bridge clubs and had been an active member of the Faribault Art Center.             She is survived by five children, Bill (Karen) Dix of Deerwood, MN, Mary (Tom) Sailor of Colorado Springs, CO, Elaine (Jim) Beaupre of Crosslake, MN, Camy (Dan) Culhane of Faribault and Jan (Dan) Sheady of Faribault; by 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and other relatives and friends.             She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Jeff Havel, sister, Genevieve Moriarity and two sons-in-law, Marty Havel and Richard Kenow.
