Lyle Flemming

Lyle M. Flemming, age 83 of Janesville, died on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, Waseca County, with Rev. Glenn Korb, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of services at church. Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Janesville is handling arrangements.


Lyle Marvin was born on April 9, 1930 to Arthur and Esther (Stiernagle) Flemming in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed by Rev. E.H. Mueller at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, Waseca County. Lyle graduated from St. Clair High School. He farmed the family farm in McPherson Township until his retirement in 1990. Lyle was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, where he served on the board of trustees and was head usher for many years. He enjoyed listening to old time music, playing cards, and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by seven nieces and nephews and their families; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alvin Flemming, Lester (Lorene) Flemming, Albert Flemming in infancy; sister, Ruth Youngerberg.

Casket bearers are: Darrell Flemming, Duane Flemming, Alan Flemming, Tom Winter, Steve More and Jeff More.
