Lyle Louis Baarts, age 92, of Neenah, WI passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2015 at his residence, Island Shores Assisted Living, Neenah, WI. Lyle was born on April 14, 1923 in Truman, MN to the late Henry and Emma Baarts. Upon graduation from Truman High School, he entered the U.S. Army and served four of his ten years of service in Frankfurt, Germany as part of the post-World War II allied occupation force. Following his honorable discharge as 1st Lieutenant, Lyle worked for W.R. Grace & Company in sales until his retirement.
Lyle was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Verna Mae (Berry) Baarts. Lyle is survived by his two sisters, Lila (Arnie-deceased) Kesler and Connie (Lonny) Eads, and his four loving children Michael (Lin) Baarts; Bonnie (Paul- deceased) Dominguez; Diana (Terry) Turgeon; and Caroline (Drew) Hudson as well as his 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Owatonna, MN. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to give donations to: Students International - write the name of Seth Jurgenson on the memo line of your check. Lyle's great-nephew, Seth Jurgenson, is a missionary in Nicaragua with Students International, a Christian mission organization providing gospel centered community development.
