Lucille Gibson

Lucille M. Gibson, age 74, of Faribault, MN, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Rev. Craig Breimhorst, officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.

Visitation will be at Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m.

Lucille Marie was born on April 18, 1943 in Beloit, Iowa to Alfred and Neva (Rector) Schrage. She graduated from Hampton High School. Lucille worked as a nurse's assistant for many years at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault. She also was a day care provider and night/weekend dispatcher for Glenn's Towing for eight years. Lucille was married to Oliver Michael Gibson on May 26, 2004. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2016. Lucille enjoyed her time on the computer, caring for her dogs and cats, and gardening. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for everybody.

She is survived by her special goddaughters and caretakers, Annette (Paul) Armstrong, and Angie (Melvin) Kanzenbach, both of Faribault; son, Gregory (Megan) Brooks of Appleton, WI; grandchildren, Carter, Hailey, and Vanessa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Jean and Jerry Bignell, and their daughter, Jackie, and Jennifer McCullough, for providing lifelong companionship for Lucille.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Oliver Michael Gibson, and Ronald Lewis; former husband, David Brooks; parents; brothers, John and Jim; and sisters, Mabel, Geneva, Viola, Ruth, and Norma.
