Lucille E. Erickson (Keilen), age 79, of New Brighton, MN, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Benedictine Healthcare at Innsbruck in New Brighton.
Lucille Elsie was born on July 27, 1941 in Faribault, MN to Leo and Elsie (Rezac) Keilen. She graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School with the class of 1959. Lucille married Clifford Erickson on July 6, 1963 at the St. Lawrence Church in Faribault. She worked as a para-professional in the Minneapolis School District for many years and enjoyed working with the children. She also had worked as a nursing assistant at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. Lucille and Clifford enjoyed spending time together at their lake place in Hayward, WI. Lucille enjoyed completing puzzles, playing bingo, watching Twins games, and visiting with friends. Most of all she cherished her time with her grandchildren and devoted herself by providing daycare to some of them.
She is survived by her sons, Mike (Sue) Erickson and Scott (Sue) Erickson; grandchildren, Shannon (Josh), Megan (Parker), Stefanie, and Dylan; great grandson, Tyson; siblings, Margaret (Raymond) Surbaugh, John (Linda) Keilen, Jim (Kathy) Keilen, Roger Keilen, Agnes Simek, Dennis Keilen, Mark (Faye) Keilen, Mary (Scott) Anderson, and Gary (Debra) Keilen; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; parents, Leo and Elsie; and brother-in-law, Frank Simek.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. The service will also be live-streamed through a link found on Lucille’s obituary page at www.ParkerKohlFuneralHome.com
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
