Lt. Delbert C. Jones, age 91, of Northfield, MN, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Northfield Retirement Center.             Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Northfield Retirement Community Chapel in Northfield, MN, with Rev. Diane M. Goulson, chaplain, officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the chapel. Interment with military honors will be held at the Tyler Mountain Cemetery in Charleston, West Virginia.              Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault, MN.             Delbert Cleveland Jones, the son of Louis Cleveland and Lillie Mae (Fallon) Jones, was born on October 18, 1918 in Birmingham, AL. Delbert served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years from 1939 - 1969. During this time he married Gertrude Williams on June 24, 1944 in Fallon, NV. She preceded him in death on December 18, 1991. Delbert was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, then served during WWII in the Pacific Theatre and later served in the Vietnam War. Delbert achieved the rank of officer going up through the ranks without a college education. During his career he was based in Hawaii, Norfolk, VA, Charleston, WV, Key West, FL, and Jacksonville, FL. Following his retirement from the military he worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1969 -1979 in Jacksonville, FL. He moved to be near his daughter in Northfield in 2004.             He is survived by three children, Carol (Joe) Moses of Atlanta, GA, Sherry (Gary) Freking of Northfield, MN, and Jeff Jones of Tallahassee, FL; three grandchildren, Kristy (John) Salzl of Hastings, MN, Ben (Sara) Freking of Red Wing, MN, and Matthew Freking of Burnsville, MN; five great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; sister, Roberta Woods of Charleston, WV; and other relatives and friends.             He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Evelyn Price; and son-in-law, Michael Howard.
