Louise M. Ryan, age 85, of Faribault, MN, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, following a brief illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault. Interment will be held at the Steele Center Cemetery in Owatonna, MN.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.
Louise Mary, the daughter of Delbert and Mary (Kubicek) Mollenhauer, was born on September 26, 1933 in Owatonna. She attended Owatonna High School. Louise was married to John H. Ryan on May 31, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN. John and Louise farmed for many years and lived in different communities including Claremont, Kenyon, Ellendale and eventually settled in Faribault. She helped John on the farm and was busy raising her children. Louise also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 30 years at the Faribault State Hospital. She enjoyed traveling and dancing with her husband, baking cookies and making caramels with her sister, playing cards at family gatherings, caring for her flower gardens, attending her children's sporting events, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Louise was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1562 Auxiliary.
She is survived by six children, Phil (Jane) Ryan of Madison, WI, Rhonda (Ronnie) Thompson of Northfield, MN, Mark Ryan of Northfield, Brenda (Tom) Story of Bemidji, MN, Craig (Lisa) Ryan of Faribault, and Brad Ryan and fiancé, Kim Baker of Waseca, MN; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Pam (Ralph) Brooks of Faribault; two sisters, Kay (Bernard) Prinzing of Emily, MN, and Darlene Ulrich of Faribault; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Mollenhauer of Northfield, and Kay Mollenhauer of Owatonna; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John on September 19, 2018; parents Delbert and Mary; son, Kevin Ryan; daughter, Valerie Ryan; grandchildren, Tessa and Travis Thompson; sister, Phylis Heagle; brothers, Don Mollenhauer, Rudy Mollenhauer, Gordon Mollenhauer, and Sidney Mollenhauer; brothers-in-law, James Heagle and Earl Ulrich; and sister-in-law, Verna Mollenhauer.
