Louis Anderson

Louis "Lou" L. Anderson, age 87 of Faribault, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault following an extended illness.

Private family services will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault with the Rev. Henry Doyle, officiating. Interment will be held in the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour Columbarium.

Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.

Louis Light, the son of Swen and Grace (Riffle) Anderson was born on April 15, 1929 in Rolla, MO. Lou's family would move to Minnesota where he would complete his schooling. On February 14, 1951 he was united in marriage to Beverly Michaels in St. Paul, MN. After their marriage Lou served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge Lou attended the University of Minnesota and earned his Bachelor's Degree. Lou worked as an independent insurance agent for most of his working career in Minneapolis and was a member of different organizations including the Masons, Shriners, Rotary and Optimists Clubs. In 1999 Lou and Beverly moved to Faribault. Beverly preceded him in death on June 24, 2009. Lou enjoyed going to garage sales and was known as the "Tin Man" because of the many tins that he would buy over the years. He also enjoyed collecting automobiles including a 1941 Lincoln Mark V, a 1958 Pink Cadillac and was especially proud of a 1909 Model T that he restored.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Anderson and husband Chris Dorman of Shakopee, MN; by his sister, Beverly Schroeder of Florida and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Michael and his brother, Dale Anderson.
