Lorraine O'Connor

February 17, 1919 — July 14, 2008

Lorraine M. (Mrs. Curtis) O'Connor, age 89 of Faribault, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Pleasant View Estates in Faribault, following a brief illness.   Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, at Immaculate Conception in Faribault. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.   Visitation will be held at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services.   There will be no reviewal.   The family prefers that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.   Lorraine Marie Baker, the daughter of Floyd and Ruth (Warren) Baker, was born on February 17, 1919 in Stanley, WI. She attended Minneapolis Edison High School and graduated with the class of 1937. On July 13, 1942 she was united in marriage to Curtis V. O'Connor in Minneapolis. After their marriage they lived in the Minneapolis area and Lorraine and Curtis were active members of their community. They were active in several different organizations. They also owned and operated Park Printing Corporation in Minneapolis. In retirement they lived in Green Valley, AZ for 25 years before moving to Faribault in 2002. Curtis preceded Lorraine in death on Dec. 17, 2003. Lorraine enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and was an excellent seamstress.    She is survived by four children, Michael (Jean) O'Connor of Walker, MN, Jon (Barb) O'Connor of Minneapolis, Suzanne (Kevin) Coyle of McKinney, TX and Mary Wilson of Faribault; by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
