Lorraine M. Mullenmeister, age 90 of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully, with her rosary in her hand and her daughter at her side, on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the New Perspectives Senior Living in Faribault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault with Fr. Byron Hagen officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to Divine Mercy Catholic Church or Bethlehem Academy High School in memory of Lorraine.
Lorraine Mary, the daughter of Frank J. and Elizabeth (Rosett) Keller, was born on July 30, 1926 in Faribault, MN. She attended Sacred Heart grade school and Faribault High School, graduating with the class of 1944. She then attended St. Lucas Deaconess School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. On June 18, 1949 she was united in marriage to Roger Mullenmeister at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. Lorraine was a nurse at St. Lucas Hospital and assisted with setting up and the transition from St. Lucas to District One Hospital. Later she worked for many years at Faribault Manor until her retirement. Roger preceded her in death on April 22, 1991. Lorraine was active in National, State and local groups of former Prisoners of War, was a member of American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, now Divine Mercy Catholic Church, CCW and a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Lorraine enjoyed raising flowers, playing cards, traveling and fishing.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Lenarz of Richfield, MN; by two granddaughters, Amy Lenarz (James Stephenson) of Minneapolis and Sarah (Jordan) Lenarz Marsh of Windsor, CO; by her sister, Eva Marie Hanson of St. Paul, MN; sister-in-law, Patricia Keller of Faribault, MN and by many special cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Ken Keller, sister, Donna Bjorklund and two brothers-in-law, Robert Bjorklund and Larry Hanson.
