Lillian Mulcahey

Lillian M. Mulcahey, age 90, of Janesville, MN, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, at the Waseca Hospital - Mayo Clinic Health System.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville, with Fr. Michael Cronin, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Ann Church Cemetery in Janesville.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville.

Lillian Mary was born on March 22, 1926 in Pierpont, SD to Joseph F. and Mary (Biren) Baumgartner. She attended college in Mankato, MN and lived and was employed in Redwood Falls, MN, Mankato, and Chicago until her marriage. She was married to Robert J. Mulcahey on June 2, 1947, at St. Columbia Catholic Church in Iona, MN. They farmed and raised their family east of Janesville before moving into town in 1983. For over 30 years they enjoyed wintering in Texas. Bob preceded her in death on January 26, 2012. Lil was very active with St. Ann's Rosary Society, Janesville American Legion Auxiliary #281, Waseca VFW #162 Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, and for over 60 years was a member of the N.E. Alton Extension Club. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, playing cards and bingo.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Jane) Mulcahey of rural Waseca, Mary Mulcahey (Michael Menaker) of Louisville, CO, James (Irene) Mulcahey of Janesville, Edward (Sharon) Mulcahey of Janesville, Barbara (Alan) Kunz of Waseca, Bernadette (Dan) Zellmer of rural Janesville, Karen (Brian) Barnett of Elysian, Patricia (Dennis) Stankey of Smiths Mill, MN, and Joann (Richard) Jacobson of Woodbury; 29 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Joseph and Mary; brothers, Leo Baumgartner, Andy Baumgartner, and Eddie Baumgartner; and sisters, Agnes Fuchs and Betty Cole.
