Lewis Caron

Lewis F. Caron Jr., age 76 of Faribault, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at his home following an extended illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to services.

Lewis Francis Jr., the son of Lewis Sr. and Lena (Chavie) Caron, was born on May 19, 1940 in Faribault, MN. He attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1958. Following high school Lewis served in the U.S. Army. On October 20, 1962 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Caron. They were later divorced. On July 19, 2008 Lewis married Marlene Brunner. Lewis along with other family members started the Caron Meat Processing business in Faribault and after 22 years sold that business. Lewis would then begin a 30 year career operating Caron Motors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing the lawn, playing cards, boating and spending time at the lake.

He is survived by his wife Marlene Brunner of Faribault, MN; by his children, Jeff Caron of Faribault, MN and Sue (Brad) Osterbauer of Apple Valley, MN, Gail (Mike) Sprengeler of Faribault, MN, Gary (Paula) Brunner of Northfield, MN and Brad Brunner and Jill Olson of Faribault, MN; by 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; by his sister Patricia (Greg) Caron of Faribault, MN and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter, Christine Caron, by four brothers, Jerome, Isidore, Bernard and Clem Caron and by six sisters, Genevieve Goodwin, Evelyn Thiffault, Irene Thompson, Dolores Bloomquist, Bernadine Jackson and LaDonna Brunner.
